Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka was born in Minsk. Sergey was a hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka, born on May 5th, 1998, from Minsk Belarus. Aryna Sabalenka holds twelve WTA Singles titles, one that was awarded the title 'Grand Slam' at the Australian Open 2023. Doubles is another area where she shines. It was the US Open 2019, and Australian Open 2021 were both won with Elise Mertens. In 2019, she was the winner of two majors, the WTA 1000 and Miami Open in Indian Wells with her Belgian teammate, and completed the Sunshine Double. The feat only four pairs in women's Doubles were able to accomplish it. She rose from second to third on the World Singles Rankings on the 23rd of August in 2021. Her best ranking was achieved again in January of 2023. In doubles however she pushed herself to the top of the list at the beginning of February that year, following the win in Melbourne becoming thus the second tennis player from Belarus to achieve success in the sport of doubles. Dmitry Tursunov was her coach in 2018 until the end of her season in 2019, and also for a short time at the start of 2020. Dieter Kindlmann and her were briefly together from August to September 2020. She is being trained by her native countryman Antonio Dubrov since the end of 2020. Serena Williams is her role model, being followed by Maria Sharapova.
